River Mobility, a rising name in India’s electric vehicle scene, has introduced the Gen 3 version of its Indie electric scooter, priced at ₹1.46 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). With smarter features, improved ride quality, and better safety, the new Indie aims to enhance urban commuting while expanding the brand’s footprint across India.
Smarter, Connected Ride Experience
One of the biggest highlights of the Indie Gen 3 is the upgraded River app integration. Riders now get real-time updates about their scooter’s charging status, ride statistics, and more. The app also allows customization of data views, so users can track information most relevant to their riding habits.
The scooter’s 6-inch digital display has also been updated for better readability. Important data such as range, battery level, and speed is now shown in a sharper and more intuitive format, making the riding experience both smarter and safer.
Better Safety, Smoother Rides
River has taken rider feedback seriously in the Gen 3 version. The latest model now features hill-hold assist, a much-needed addition for city riding, especially on slopes or flyovers. New grippier tyres and 14-inch alloy wheels ensure better stability on rough or wet roads. The tyre sizes — 110/70 at the front and 120/70 at the rear — contribute to improved control and comfort.
Though the overall design remains mostly unchanged, the scooter still offers practical touches like twin-beam LED headlights, flat floorboard, foldable footpegs, and side protective bars that double as mounts for accessories or panniers.
Power and Range
The Indie Gen 3 is powered by a 4-kWh battery pack, capable of fast charging. With a 750W charger, it takes around 5 hours to charge from 0-80%. The scooter delivers a peak power output of 6.7 kW and torque of 26 Nm, making it quick off the line. In Rush Mode, it accelerates from 0 to 40 km/h in just 3.7 seconds.
It offers three riding modes — Eco, Ride, and Rush — with top speeds of 50 km/h, 80 km/h, and 90 km/h respectively. The IDC range is 161 km, while real-world range varies from 110 km in Eco mode to 70 km in Rush mode.
Network Expansion and Sales Milestones
River Mobility isn’t just improving its products—it’s also growing its presence. The company recently opened its first store in Delhi, bringing its total outlets to 34 across major Indian cities. The brand plans to expand to 80 stores by the end of this financial year, with new locations coming up in states like UP, MP, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Punjab.
In 2025, River has already hit key milestones, including monthly sales of over 1,000 units and crossing ₹100 crore in revenue. More than 13,000 River Indie scooters are now on the roads across India. The River Indie Gen 3 brings thoughtful updates to an already practical electric scooter. With improved tech, enhanced safety, and a growing service network, it’s an appealing choice for urban riders looking to switch to electric. River Mobility’s focus on customer feedback and continuous improvement makes it a brand worth watching in India’s evolving EV market.
